Nominations Close: 1 March 2012 - Forms must be submitted to WLAC president no later than 29th February to be eligible.
The State Individual Championships (SIC) will be held at Mile End (Santos) stadium on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March 2012. Nominations Close Thursday 1st March 2012. The Championships are for those athletes in U9—U17 age groups.
Each child is allowed to enter up to five events. To be eligible for an event an athlete must compete in at least 50% of meets from registration and must twice equal or better the qualifying standard by 29th February 2012.
At time of registration all athletes receive the qualifying standards (see attached downloads) and programs for the Championships. It is the parents’ responsibility to enter their child/children in the Championships. (See the rules of the competition). The Centre Recorder will issue entry forms to all eligible athletes prior to the closing date for entries.
Please check the attached list of athletes who have qualified. We have many athletes who have qualified this year and we would encourage you to register. It is a great couple of days, giving you the chance to compete against athletes from other clubs as well as a chance to win medals. Good luck to all of our qualifiers!
Some Additional Information:
- In club long and triple jump and throwing events each competitor has three jumps or throws.
- In championships, the leading 8 competitors are then allowed an three extra jumps or throws to decide the placing's. The best of the six attempts is taken into account in deciding a winner.
- Further information on any event, fouls, technique, rules etc can be obtained from committee members, graded officials or coaches.
